Sales Manager– Automation Industry (m/f/x)

India, place of work - flexible within major metropolitan areas
The ideal candidate should bring proven experience in selling automation components and solutions. Ideally, this experience has been gained in one or more mission-critical industries, such as manufacturing and industrial automation, renewable energy (including solar, hybrid systems, BESS, and GH2), process industries, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, food & beverage, mining or data centers. A solid understanding of customer environments where reliability, robust systems, and minimal downtime are critical is desirable.
Your Responsibilities
- Sales of Bachmann electronic hard- and software automation products as well as services by closing out opportunities, with a strong focus, but not limited to, the Automation Industry in India
- Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with strategic customers in the industrial automation sector in India
- Working closely with business development to identify target customers and implement strategies agreed upon activity plans
- Identifying new business opportunities and expanding the market position in the areas of machine automation, control systems, SCADA, and CMS systems
- Focus on improving our knowledge of customers and competitive landscape
- Playing a pivotal role in achieving the annual sales targets and other defined KPI’s by creating and closing opportunities from a diverse portfolio of offers
- Collaborating closely with the application engineer team to identify target customers and implement agreed-upon activity plans to drive sales growth
- Proactively identifying and engaging new clients for automation, expanding our customer base
- Develop a strong understanding of customer needs, market trends, competitors, and technological developments to strengthen Bachmann’s market position
- Represent Bachmann electronic at trade shows, conferences, industry events, and customer meetings
- Close cooperation with the Bachmann HQ in Feldkirch, Austria, as well as with other international Bachmann organizations
- Serving as the primary point of contact for industrial automation customers in India
Your profile
- Background in selling automation systems, services, and electronic controls, demonstrating a solid understanding of the industry and its offerings
- Confidence and experience in successfully engaging with clients at all levels, building strong relationships and effectively communicating value propositions
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, automation engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 7 years of B2B sales experience in industrial markets, ideally with automation systems, electronic controls, software solutions, or related services
- Solid technical understanding of industrial automation applications and the ability to translate technical solutions into clear customer value
- Strong existing network within industrial customers and relevant industry partners in India
- Self-driven, proactive, and commercially minded personality with strong networking, communication, and presentation skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong commercial ability, enabling you to identify customer needs and propose tailored solutions
- Willingness to travel extensively within India to visit customers, develop business opportunities, and attend industry events
- Structured and detail-oriented working style, ensuring accuracy in sales processes, opportunity management, and documentation
